I have heard may horror stories about moving companies that lose items, break items, or end up costing twice what they estimated. Long Island Moving and Storage exceeded my expectations for a moving company.

Adelaide was extremely patient and helpful with me as I rescheduled my appointment to move several times. On December 14th , my husband and I moved the contents of our apartment in Lindenhurst to our first home, also in Lindenhurst. We were originally scheduled to move the week before, but because of the huge snow storm it was necessary to reschedule.

As luck would have it, the morning of our rescheduled move date it started to snow again!

Scott, Dave and Mike were our movers. I can't say enough about these guys! They were friendly and took excellent care with our furniture. When we arrived at the new house, I came into the house briefly and before I could go back outside to shovel the steps for them, they shoveled it already! They never complained about the snow or the fact that I have grand staircase to my front door with 22 steps! When they were done, the estimate that Adelaide provided me with was accurate, as she promised, there were no hidden charges!

My husband and I look forward to having Long Island Moving and Storage handle his mothers move from Queens to Long Island. We plan to recommend Long Island Moving and Storage to everyone.

"Gentlemen:

On September 11, 1997, your truck Number 24 manned by Brian, Steve, and Kenny moved my 3-piece wall unit from 24 Sylvia Lane, Plainview, NY to 55 Sprucewood Blvd., Central Islip, NY. The wall unit contained glass doors and was very fragile, while at the same time being heavy, large, and bulky - particularly the center section. This section weighed over 350 pounds and was 4 feet by 6 1/2 feet by 12 1/2 feet. It was moved to a second floor up two sets of stairs with a small platform between the stairs which required a 180 degree turn in a very tight location. Brian, Steve, and Kenny had to
remove the hand truck used to move the unit, while on the platform, and lift the full weight of the unit while simultaneously twisting the unit up the second set of stairs.

They expended an unusually high effort to achieve the required lifting and accomplish the difficult move. Their highly professional performance is acknowledged and appreciated and they should be commended for it.

As with most people, the mere thought of moving was traumatic. We packed for months prior to the "big day" and as it drew near we became frantic l On July 7th. everything fell apart. When your crew arrived, both John and I were virtually suicidal I Then we met "Bobby".

Bobby arrived the day of our move on time, courteous, cheerful, competent, and clearly in control He orchestrated the carrying and packing of our possessions with the precision of a virtuoso. As Bobby had taken over all my problems, I sat back and watched. At this point 1 must say this. I am CEO to a large company and rarely have I seen such natural management skills. Coupled with the physical labor, one has to wonder at this young man's background. His crew clearly respected him; carrying out the most difficult tasks without resentment. When he identified a task may have been more difficult than expected, he became their guide and mentor, coaching each one in a way that would encourage but never offend.

By the end of the day, all the men where exhausted, however they still maintained their courteousness, sense of humor and to my amazement, did not slow down. One has to wonder if your company truly appreciates the extra effort your employees put forth.
